5 For Friday: Life In Lockdown with our Founder

by Riley Studio |

Today for our 5 For Friday we talk to our Founder and Creative Director, Riley Uggla. We hear how she’s been juggling work and a young toddler during lockdown and what's been keeping her entertained.

1. What’s kept you entertained during lockdown?

Other than my toddler who’s running around, all the memes! People have been so creative.

I’ve binge watched Normal People in two days - I can’t get enough.

Instagram has played a big role in staying connected within the industry, and there have been some great seminars on IG Live from people like Positive Luxury and FashMash.

2. What books have you been reading?

I normally have a couple of books on the go, one educational and one fiction. I’ve just finished Lauren Bravo’s How to Break Up With Fast Fashion which explores the toxic relationship fast fashion has on ourselves and the planet. It’s really well written and particularly relevant at the moment.

The other book I’m reading is American Dirt by Jeannie Cummins which I can’t recommend enough. It's a harrowing but beautiful story.

3. What's your top tip for working from home with a toddler?

Establishing a routine for both you and your little one is key! I've learnt to rotate toys to keep them new and interesting.

4. What has been your go to outfit for lockdown?

I've been living in my Human Kind Classic T-Shirt and our Recycled Nylon Track Pants. The track pants are so comfy but still feel smart enough to wear for that one trip to the shops.

5. What are you grateful for?

I’ve taken up running during lockdown and am absolutely loving it. Especially running along the canal when the sun is out. You forget how lucky we are living in such a beautiful city.
